The Fukugonji Festival, which started in 2007. In the comfortable autumn night’s air, we opened up the gate of the main hall, listening to the sound of insects and music on the grass. You can re-recognize the joyful essence of “listening."
Creating culture
The city of Hamamatsu, where the Yamaha Headquarters are based, is located midway along a transportation artery connecting the East(Kanto) and West(Kansai) regions of Japan. Its significance as a cultural hub, however, is less established. Therefore, having an event in Hamamatsu holds great value because it would boost cultural creation and people from Kanto, Kansai, and other parts of Japan and from abroad can easily gather. Choosing to host the event at a temple is also significant because a temple is a place where people traditionally come together.

ヤマハ本社がある浜松市は、関東・関西の交通の中間に位置しています。しかしながら、文化においては取り残されている感は否めません。 本来関東からも関西からも人が集まりやすいはずの浜松のこれまた人が集う場所である「お寺」で関東、関西、国内外から人が集結して文化が作られる、というのもまた面白いのではないでしょうか。
